Nature Study:  Begin a "Nature Year" book, making journal notes, drawings, lists, and spiritual applications of observations from nature for an entire year.

GOVERNMENT - 5 credits


Constitutional Law:

Also - Attended Constitutional Law camp at Patrick Henry College, and won the "Patrick Henry Award" for highest score in the debate, and was on the winning team for Moot Court.

View two accompanying videos, and read the Lincoln-Douglas Debates, and Carl Sandburg article about them.  Final Exam:  Prepare notes for a sample debate, or critique debate won at PHC's Con-Law camp.

Selections from "Plutarch's Lives"
Write a short narration for each.

"Invitation to the Classics" by Louise Cowan and Os Guinness
Write a short narration for each chapter of the book.


Poetry:

Completion of the exercises will be the requirement, with oral narration for the exams. (An excellent resource, written by a knowledgeable and very friendly professor!  Highly recommended.)

Quote Book begun - Student is to begin to compile a collection of favorite and meaningful quotes, as an advanced and personalized form of copywork.


SPANISH - Spanish I - 5 credits


The Berlitz Self-Teacher: Spanish (Grosset & Dunlap, 1949.)
Evaluation is by completion of all the lessons' "Thinking in Spanish" questions, and vocabulary quizzes.


HEALTH/PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT/PHYSICAL EDUCATION - 5 credits


Health: (Safety)
Driver's Education Course (through Sears Driving School) and acquisition of Graduated Driver's License through the state of New Jersey.
Completion of Community CPR course (Certificate of completion will be evaluation method used.)
Viewing at home of 40 min. video "How to Save Your Child or Baby" (Must be able to narrate orally and explain procedures.)

Personal Development:

Jim Cymbala's "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" (on prayer)
Written narration as exam.
Also:  Ruth Tucker's "Guardians of the Great Commission" (biographical accounts of history's women missionaries)  Oral narration.


Physical Education:
At least 2 ½-3 hours of aerobic-styled exercise per week (can be in activities with others, such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes' "Huddle," homeschool skiing or ice skating, video exercise, or rollerblading/biking).  Keep record, and submit as exam.


Total year 11 credits:  35 (30, plus 5 Bible credits)
